The Venezuelan military has been drafted in to help the population replace normal light bulbs with low-energy ones.
Venezuela is currently facing its most acute energy crisis in the past fifty years.
The government blames the energy crisis on the El Nino climatic effect, which has caused one of the driest rainy seasons on record and brought rolling blackouts.
The deputy minister for electric energy, Javier Alverado said consumers can take small steps to deal with the electricity crisis.
