England against Bangladesh in second test
Ian Bell stroked his 10th Test century and Tim Bresnan made a half-century as England reached 440 for eight at stumps today, taking a 21-run lead over hosts Bangladesh on the third day of the second cricket test at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Bell scored his century from 201 balls, including 11 boundaries and one six, and ended his fine innings on 138 off 263 balls.
Jahurul Islam caught him as he tried to sweep a Shakib Al Hasan delivery.
Bresnan was unbeaten on 74 at stumps along with James Tredwell who has yet to score.
Bresnan and Bell added 143 runs in their sixth wicket stand to help England prosper against an imposing Bangladesh total of 419.
Matt Prior also scored a half-century. He scored 62.
Resuming on their overnight score of 171-3, England was 285 for 5 at lunch and 372 for 5 at tea.
Shakib Al Hasan ended as the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with four for 99.
England won the first test by 181 runs.
