Angola police officers jailed for 24 years

Seven police officers in Angola have each been sentenced to 24 years in jail for killing eight men.

The officers reportedly told the eight alleged criminal suspects to lie down before shooting them in the back.

One of those shot managed to identify two of the plain clothed officers before dying.

It’s said to be the first time that Angolan police had ever been convicted of such a serious crime.

However, analysts say it is not clear whether this case marks a new determination from the government to tackle police brutality.
