England beat Bangladesh in second test
Stand-in Captain Alastair Cook guided England to a 2-0 series win over hosts Bangladesh with a controlled unbeaten century in their nine-wicket victory in the second Test today at She-e-Bangla National Stadium
After a frustrating morning, which saw the tourists\' target swell to 209 in a minimum 54 overs, Cook compiled a measured 109 not out in an unbroken 167-run stand with Kevin Pietersen 74 not out.
England were set 209 to win after Bangladesh, who resumed this morning on 172 for six, were bowled out for 285.
England reached the target comfortably, losing only Jonathan Trott to a run out on 19 from a throw by Jaharul Islam.
Earlier, offspinner James Tredwell was the most successful bowler for England with four for 82. Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann ended with two wickets apiece.
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who was 25 not out overnight, topscored for Bangladesh with 96. He was last man out.
Opener Tamim Iqbal, 52, also scored a half-century.
Final scores in the match are Bangladesh 419 and 285, England 496 and 209 for one.
