Defense attorneys want a federal judge in Idaho to throw out a $24 billion predatory lending lawsuit filed against Credit Suisse Group.
Credit Suisse is an international financial service group with its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
The action was filed by investors in broke resorts in the West and The Bahamas.
The investors contend that Credit Suisse set up a branch in the Caymans Islands to skirt US rules.
They also accuse the company of appraising the resorts at artificially inflated prices as part of a scheme to later foreclose on the properties.
However attorneys for Credit Suisse say in court documents that the legal action is based on absurd claims by people who never borrowed money from the bank.
