Rain has stopped play on today’s first day of the three-day Grace Headley Cup final between reigning champions St Elizabeth Technical High School, (STETHS) and Holmwood Technical High at Alpart Sprots Club in St Elizabeth.

Holmwood Technical were getting ready to reply to STETHS’ first innings total of 213 when play was interrupted by rain about five minutes before the tea interval.

Sheldon Samuels top scored for STETHS with 78 and Vanfield Bromfield supported well with 60.

Spinner Rohan McKenzie was the most successful bowler for Holmwood Technical with four for 70; while medium pacer Demar Davis had three for 24.

STETHS are searching for their fifth straight title and back-to-back double wins. They have already bagged the Grace Limited Over title.
