The LIAT Pilot\'s Association says it will stage immediate industrial action if the airline goes ahead with plans to base its crew in the Trinidad and Tobago capital Port-of-Spain.
In a statement LIAT said it is considering the move after recent research to assess the costs involved.
The airline says it’s currently spending over US$1 million annually in accommodation for crew members to over-night in hotels in Port-of-Spain.
However the chairman of the LIAT Pilots Association Michael Blackburn says his members are concerned about factors such as crime in Trinidad and will take action against the move.
