The twin brother of Poland\'s former president says he will run for election in his place.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski says he will stand in the June 20 presidential election, despite an order to continue his brother\'s mission.

The former president, 60-year-old Lech Kaczynski, was killed in a plane crash in western Russia on April 10, along with many Polish dignitaries.

He was expected to run for re-election in October, although polls suggested he would lose.

Analysts say his brother could benefit from a significant sympathy vote in the wake of the tragedy.

The two brothers founded the Law and Justice Party in 2001.
