Berger King Championships begins today

The four-day Berger King Inter-scholastic Tennis Championships begins this morning at 9 a.m. at the Eric Bell Centre.



More than 150 students from schools across the country, including Ocho Rios High, Cross Keys, Montego Bay, Campion College, Norman Manley, Hillel Academy, St Andrew High and Jamaica College, are down to compete.



They will compete in the boys’ and girls’ Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 categories.



Sicquene Sinclair, the defending Under-18 champion, is expected face tough challenges from Shantal Blackwood and Michaelann Denton.



A new champion will be crowned in the boys’ Under-18 section as last year’s winner, Kamarsh Crumbie, has exceeded the age limit.



Ramone Doyley, Sheldon McIntosh, and Horatio Ludford are the main competitors for the title.
