German Chancellor Angela Merkel is urging the German parliament to support the European Union’s emergency loan package for Greece.
Parliamentary approval is needed for the EU and International Monetary Fund (IMF) to start disbursing the 110 billion euro bail-out.
The rescue is conditional on Greece cutting public sector wages and pensions and boosting tax receipts.
The German parliament will vote on the bail-out package on Friday.
The government has already approved it.
