The US House of Representatives has approved trade breaks for Haiti’s textile industry, the latest of several actions aimed at aiding recovery in the earthquake-ravaged nation.
The measure expands the kinds of textile products and apparel that Haiti can export duty-free to the United States.
Textiles and apparel are Haiti’s most important exports to the US.
The bill goes to the Senate, which is expected to quickly pass the measure and send it to President Barack Obama for his signature.
