JN pumps $2 million in youth cricket
The Primary and All-Age Schools’ Cricket Competition received a significant boost this morning with Jamaica National Building Society( JNBS), announcing a $2 million sponsorship for the 2010 season.
Details of the sponsorship package were announced during the competition’s launch at Sabina Park.
The competition will also benefit from a sponsorship package from the state-run Sports Development Foundation.
President of the Jamaica Cricket Association, Paul Campbell, says the school cricket program was designed to help in the development of children.
Twelve teams divided in two Zones will contest the Primary section in St Andrew, while over in Kingston, there will also be twelve teams divided into two zones.
The top two teams in each zone will play a semi-final to decide the parish winners.
Excelsior are the defending champions in the Primary section.
Twelve teams will play in the All-Age section and the two parish winners will contest the final. John Mills are the reigning champions.
The competition bowled off this morning.
