England ease past Sri Lanka to reach final
England cruised into the final of the 20/20 World Cup after producing a clinical display with bat and ball to beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets at Beausejour Stadium in St Lucia earlier this afternoon.
After restricting Sri Lanka to 128 for 6 in 20 overs, England cruised to 132 for 3 with four overs to spare.
Kevin Pietersen led England to victory with 42 not out off 26 balls. He was supported by openers Craig Kieswetter 39 and Michael Lumb 33.
Thissara Perera was the most successful bowler for Sri Lanka with 2 for 19.
Earlier, Stuart Broad took 2 for 21 to help limit Sri Lanka to their modest total despite a top score of 58 off 45 balls by Angelo Mathews. Tim Bresnan, Ryan Sidebottom and Graeme Swann picked up a wicket apiece.
England will play either Australia or Pakistan in Sunday\'s final. The second final will take place at Beausejour Stadium tomorrow, beginning at 11.30 a.m. local time.
