St Lucia's former police commissioner is to challenge the legality of his removal as the head of the force by Prime Minister Stephenson King.
Mr Regis has hired a senior local lawyer to act on his behalf.
Mr. Ausbert Regis was yesterday transferred to the post of Director of Special Initiatives in the Office of the Prime Minister.
The island's crime chief,Vernon Francois has been appointed to act as commissioner with the help of two acting deputies.
Prime Minister King had said the transfers are apart of a strategy to tackle St Lucia’s spiralling crime problem.
