Powell headlines Diamond League meet in Oslo

Former 100-metre world record champion Asafa Powell is among 12 Jamaicans down to compete at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League meeting in Oslo, Norway today.



Powell gave one of the memorable performances at the opening Diamond League meet in Qatar, where he clocked windy 9.75 seconds and 9.81 performances.



The race also includes three other Jamaicans, Michael Frater, Lerone Clarke and Mario Forsythe.



Jamaica will be represented by two athletes in the women\'s 400 metres. They are Novlene Williams-Mills, who finished third in Doha and Shericka Williams, the World and Olympic silver medallist.



The other Jamaicans down to run are Sheri-Ann Brooks and Anneisha McLaughlin in the women’s 200, Vonette Dixon and Dolloreen Ennis-London in the women’s 100-metre hurdles, Mardrea Hyman in the women’s 3 000-metre steeplechase and Isa Phillips in the men’s 300-metre hurdles.
