The four-team race for the two qualifying spots in next season\'s Digicel Premier League is well-poised following yesterday\'s first set of games in the second round of the Confederation playoff.

Only three points separate the four teams after Cavaliers and Benfica secured victories.

Cavalier, the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League champions, edged Westmoreland-based Reno 2-1 at the UWI Bowl, while Benfica blanked St Catherine team Meadows 2-0 at Drax Hall Sports Complex in St Ann.

Cavalier have now joined Reno atop the standings on seven points each with two matches to go; while Benfica and Meadows are locked on four points apiece.

For Cavalier, Julian Nugent 3rd minute and Oneil Morrison 75th minute found the back of the net and Craig Morrison scored for Reno five minutes before the end.

Derron Jackson 27th minute and Ricardo Scott 87th minute scored for Benfica to give the team its first victory of the playoff.
