Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell has signed a new shoe deal with a sportswear and equipment supplier based in China.
Powell’s agent Paul Doyle confirmed with trackalerts.com that his athlete has secured a new deal.
However, Doyle did not disclose terms of the new deal. He says it’s up to the company to disclose the bulk of the information.
Powell has been without a shoe contact for several months. It had been reported that his deal with Nike, which ended on December 31 of last year, was in the region of US$750,000 a year.
Powell did not sign a new contract with Nike because the company was offering less than the previous figure.
