Former Jamaica midfielder Robbie Earle was fired as a World Cup commentator for British TV station ITV after violating FIFA\'s ticket regulations at the tournament in South Africa.

According to the broadcaster, tickets allocated to Earle for Monday\'s game between Denmark and the Netherlands were used for unauthorized purposes and were passed on to third parties.

ITV said a substantial number of tickets allocated to Robbie Earle for family and friends were passed to a third party in breach of FIFA rules.

Earle, who is also an ambassador for England\'s 2018 World Cup bid, said he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong.

While, local government officials are investigating how World Cup tickets they donated to local farm workers ended up being sold illegally outside a stadium.

A spokesman for Ace Magashule, the premier of South Africa\'s Free State province, said a number of tickets for the match between Japan and Cameroon in the central city of Bloemfontein had been given to poor farm workers from the region.

William Bulwana said it was unclear how the tickets came to be sold by touts outside Free State Stadium at Monday\'s game. South Africa\'s Star newspaper said some of its reporters bought tickets outside the stadium.

Free State Stadium\'s next game is tomorrow’s Group B encounter between Nigeria and Greece.
