England, Algeria face off in crucial match

England coach Fabio Capello has decided on his starting eleven to face Algeria in their crucial World Cup game today but Robert Green must still wait until two hours before kick off to know if he has earned a reprieve.

The game will take place in Cape Town, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Jamaica time.

Goalkeeper Green\'s blunder gave the United States an equaliser in last weekend\'s 1-1 draw in Rustenburg.

He has been the topic of constant speculation this week as to whether he will be given another chance by Capello or whether Joe Hart or David James will replace him. But Capello will not break with his tradition of informing his players whether they are playing until shortly before they board the team bus for a game.

England are third in Group ‘C’ with a point and need a victory to stay in contention of a place in the last 16.

Algeria would be eliminated by a second successive defeat. They, like England were affected by a costly goalkeeping blunder in their opening game, with Faouzi Chaouchi allowing a tame shop from Slovenia’s Robert Koren to beat him.
