Olympic silver medallist leads Jamaican athletes

Olympic silver medallist Danny McFarlane leads a host of Jamaican athletes to compete at the Ponce Grand Prix at the Paquito Montaner Stadium in Puerto Rico tomorrow.



McFarlane and Panama’s Olympic finalist Bayano Kamani are the top contenders for the men’s 400 metre hurdles.



The race also includes Jamaica’s Ian Weakley.



In the 110-metre sprint hurdles, Jamaican Richard Phillips is down to compete against 2007 Osaka World Championships bronze medallist, David Payne of the USA.



The women’s 100-metre hurdles will feature Jamaica’s Andrea Bliss competing against USA’s 2006 World Indoor Championships fourth place finisher Danielle Carrutheres and 2006 European Cup bronze medallist Aurelia Trywianski of Poland.



Other Jamaicans down to compete are Peta Gay Dowdie and Clora Williams.
