Jamaica’s 83-member squad for the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Junior Championships to be held this weekend in the Dominican Republic will depart tomorrow following a one-day delay.

It means that the Jamaicans will arrive in the Dominican Republic 24 hours before the meet gets underway.

The meet will see competition in two age groups, Under 17 and Under 20 for both sexes.

The Jamaican team will be headed by CARIFTA Under-17 sprint champion Odean Skeen of Wolmer’s Boys, Ristananna Tracey of Edwin Allen, Holmwood Technical’s Chris Ann Gordon, Manchester High’s Natoya Goule and the Calabar pair of Chad Wright and Traves Smikle.

Jamaica topped the tables at the 2006 meet with 59 medals including 32 gold, 16 silver and 11 bronze.
