Jamaica Under-23 NACAC team to return today

Jamaica’s Under-23 team to the 2010 NACAC Under-23 Track and Field Championships in Miramar, Florida is scheduled to return home at 2:35 p.m.



The Jamaicans picked up two more individual medals on yesterday’s final day to finish with seven medals.



Edwin Allen schoolgirl Nikita Tracy and G.C. Foster College’s Rasheed Dwyer were responsible for the medals yesterday. They won bronze medals.



Tracy, competing at the senior level for the second time, finished third in the 400-metre hurdles with a personal-best 56.89.



The United States finished one-two as the University of Miami teammates T’erra Brown 55.14 took gold and Tameka Jameson won silver in 55.97.



Dwyer, one of Jamaica’s promising sprinters, captured his first major medal at a senior meet as he clocked 20.64 seconds for a third-place finish in the men’s 200 metres, with a positive win reading of 2.8 metres per second.



Curtis Mitchell of the United States won the event in 20.06.



The United States picked up 31 more medals yesterday to top the table with a record 74 medals.
