Jamaica pile the pressure on Guyana

Reigning champions Jamaica, resuming this morning on 256 for six, reached 328 for nine at lunch on today’s second day of their second round match in the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 Challenge against Guyana at the Gros-Islet field in St Lucia.



Jermaine Blackwood, who was 100 overnight, is undefeated on 154. Donovan Nelson could only add one to his overnight total of 47 before he was dismissed.



Bowling for Guyana, Anthony Adams has taken three for 89 and Amir Khan two for 111.



Guyana are the early leaders on 12 points following an eight wicket victory over Leeward Islands, while Jamaica are on three points from their drawn opening round game against Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday.



Over at the Beausejour Cricket Ground Barbados, resuming this morning on 290 for five against the Leeward Islands declared their first innings at 350 for six.



In reply, the Leeward Islands were 11 without loss at the lunch break.



While over at Dennery Playing Field Trinidad and Tobago, replying to Windward Islands’ first innings total of 236, reached 106 for four at the break.
