Spain overtake Brazil in FIFA rankings

Jamaica’s Reggae Boys suffered a two-place drop in the FIFA rankings today and are now ranked at 83rd.



The Jamaicans are seven places behind Caribbean neighbours Trinidad and Tobago, who moved up 19 places in the rankings.



World Cup winners Spain have moved atop the latest FIFA rankings, with runner-up Netherlands moving up to second.



The reigning world and European champions overtook Brazil, who slipped to third in the table released today.



Germany climbs two places to Number four on the basis of their third-place showing in South Africa, ahead of Argentina and World Cup semifinalists Uruguay.



England, Portugal, Egypt and Chile round out the top 10.



Chile rose eight places in the latest rankings, but the biggest jump was made by New Zealand. They climbed 24 spots to 54th.



The U.S. gained a spot to 13th.



Italy, the 2006 World Cup winner, dropped out of the top 10 to 11th. France fell 12 places to 21st.
