Jamaica lost gold medal match to Puerto Rico

Jamaica lost the gold medal match to hosts Puerto Rico last night in the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Women.



The Jamaicans were outclassed and lost the game 72-48 to give Puerto Rico their first gold medal in the history of the competition.



Jazmine Sepulveda led Puerto Rico with 20 points and also dished out 6 assists. Sepulveda was selected as the MVP of the tournament.



Pamela Rosado added 11 points while Stephanie Rosado and Angiely Morales netted 10 each.



For Jamaica, Vanessa Nicole Gidden netted 20 points and Nicole Louden had 11.



The tournament qualifies three teams for the 2011 FIBA-Americas Championships and the 2011 Pan-Am Games.



Jamaica and Puerto Rico had already qualified going into the gold medal match, while Mexico took the final place last night after beating Trinidad and Tobago for the bronze medal.
