Rain threatens 20/20 games in T&T
Adverse weather again threatens the Caribbean 20/20 Trophy, which moves from Barbados to Trinidad and Tobago for the final set of preliminary round games.
Two matches are scheduled for Queen’s Park Oval with pre-tournament favourites Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica facing off in a top-of-the-table clash at 8 p.m. the evening.
Heavy rain drenched the country all day yesterday, seriously putting in doubt the doubleheader which also sees Leeward Islands and Canada contesting the opening game at the venue at 4 p.m.
Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago both emerged from the first leg in Barbados without a loss with their semi-final spots booked and their clash could now be a precursor for Saturday’s final, once rain allows.
Jamaica and T&T have the same number of points in Group ‘A’ but the Jamaicans enjoy a better net run rate of plus 1.810 compared to T&T plus 1.456. Should rain wash out the match, then Jamaica would go through as group leaders, with T&T second.
