Usain Bolt and sprint rivals Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell are to meet for the first time in 2010 in the 100 metres at the Stockholm Diamond League on August 6.

Meet director Rajne Soderberg confirmed Bolt’s participation today.

Powell and Gay were already scheduled to participate at the meeting, while Bolt was added to the bill after negotiations stretching over several weeks.

It will be the first time triple Olympic champion Bolt, fellow Jamaican Powell and American Gay will meet since the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

At the Worlds, Bolt took gold in a world record time of 9.58 seconds with Gay second and Powell finishing third.

The 2009 world final was one of the most remarkable sprint races of all time, with Gay running 9.71 to claim silver and Powell taking bronze with 9.84.

However, all three have not raced together since, although Bolt beat Powell in the Paris Diamond League event on July 16, running 9.84 seconds. Gay also beat Powell in the 100 at the British Grand Prix in Gateshead.

The trio also will meet in the Diamond League final at Brussels on August 27.
