New Zealand thrash India by 200 runs in ODI
New Zealand humbled India by 200 runs today at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Sri Lanka in the one-day international tri-series opener.
India were bowled out for 88 in the 30th over in reply to New Zealand's 288 inside 49 overs.
It was India's fifth lowest ever score in one-dayers, and lowest against New Zealand, while the Black Caps posted their fourth biggest win by runs.
Only three India players hit double figures. Ravindra Jadeja topscored with 20, Virender Sehwag got 19 and opener Dinesh Karthik 14.
Medium pacer Daryl Tuffey was the most successful bowler for New Zealand with three for 43, while seamers Jacob Oram and Kyle Mills supported with two wickets apiece.
Ross Taylor, leading New Zealand in the absence of regular skipper Daniel Vettori topscored for the Kiwis with 95. Scott Styris scored 89 off 95 balls with nine boundaries and a six for his best One Day International score in more than two years.
Ashish Nehra was the most successful bowler for India with four for 47, while Praveen Kumar had three for 43.
Sri Lanka play New Zealand in the next match on Friday.
