Women's semis on today

Jamaica, reigning champions Trinidad and Tobago, along with Barbados and hosts St Vincent and the Grenadines will contest the semi-finals of the West Indies Women's limited overs competition in St Vincent today.



The teams all confirmed their places during yesterday's final set of games in the preliminary round.



In the semi-finals Jamaica will face St Vincent and the Grenadines at Arnos Vale Playing Field Two and Trinidad and Tobago will play Barbados at Arnos Vale Playing Field One.



There will also be two playoffs for lower places today with St Lucia playing Grenada at Stubbs and Dominica tackling Guyana at Victoria Park.



The Jamaicans booked their spot by romping to their third straight victory in Group A, when they beat Dominica by 148 runs at Stubbs.



Three wickets for Vanessa Watts, as well as two each for Roshana Outar and Peta-Gaye Hanson propelled Jamaica to victory, as Dominica, chasing 190 for victory, were dismissed for 41.



West Indies Women's player Shanel Daley hit the top score of 44, as the Jamaicans were dismissed for 189.



Jamaica topped the group with 12 points, followed by Barbados on eight, St Lucia on four and Dominica on zero.



In Group B games yesterday, St Vincent and the Grenadines prevailed by four wickets over Guyana at Arnos Vale Playing Field One, and Trinidad and Tobago had to settle for a no result, after rain prompted an abandonment in their match against Grenada at Victoria Park.



Trinidad and Tobago finished top of the group on 9 points, one ahead of St Vincent and the Grenadines with Guyana ending on 4, and Grenada on one.
