St Vincent beat Jamaica

Jamaica crashed out of the West Indies Women’s limited overs competition in St Vincent today, losing by 31 runs to the hosts in their semi-final match at Arnos Vale Playing Field Two.



The Jamaicans, set a very easy victory target of 129, were bowled out for just 97 with West Indies player Shanel Daley top scoring with 36.



Karla Cohen was the next best scorer for Jamaica with 21, while top West Indies player Stafanie Taylor made 14.



Earlier, St Vincent and the Grenadines were bowled out for 128. Chadean Nation ended with three wickets, while left-arm spinner Shanel Daley supported well with two wickets for 15 runs off her allotted 10 overs.



Juliana Nero top scored for St Vincent and the Grenadines with 26, while Sheree-Ann John slammed 24 not out and Samantha Lynch 17.



St Vincent and the Grenadines now await the winner of the other semifinal match between reigning champions Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados at Arnos Vale Playing Field Two.



The Bajans, set a victory target of 220 by the Trinidadians, were in trouble at 50 for three at the end of the 15th over.



The final will take place on Wednesday at Arnos Vale Playing Field One.
