Jamaica finish third in 50-over competition

Jamaica secured third place in the West Indies Cricket Board Women’s 50-over competition by defeating Barbados by 68 runs in their third place playoff match at Arnos Vale Playing Field Two in St Vincent.



Batting first, Jamaica were dismissed for 120 off 41.2 overs with West Indies player Stafanie Taylor topscoring with 29.



Needing 121 for victory, Barbados were bowled out for 52 with Chadean Nation taking four for seven.



Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago won the title for the second straight year when they defeated hosts St Vincent and the Grenadines by three wickets at the Arnos Vale Playing Field One.



The Trinidadians, set a victory target of 156, ended on 157 for seven to win the championship match with 17 balls to spare.



Britney Cooper top scored for T&T with 56 not out off 72 balls, while Stacy-Ann King scored 43 off 60 balls.



Earlier, St Vincent and the Grenadines were dismissed for 156 off their allotted 50 overs with Juliana Nero scoring an undefeated 85.
