Sunshine Girls travelling to Napier for second test
Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls will travel from Wellington to Napier today for the second and final netball test against hosts New Zealand on Saturday at Pettigrew Green Arena.
The Jamaicans will try to square the series against the second ranked New Zealand after suffering a 58-35 defeat in the opening test yesterday at the Canterbury Arena.
Romelda Aiken scored most goals for Jamaica yesterday with 24 from 29 attempts, while Anna-Kaye Griffiths had 8 from 12 and Vanessa Walker 3 from 5.
Irene van Dyk led the Silver Ferns to victory with a game-high 45 goals from 48 attempts. Maria Tutaia, who had 10 from 14 and Grace Rasmussen with 3 from 6, supported her.
The Jamaicans have now lost four straight test matches, following a 3-0 defeat to top ranked Australia before going to New Zealand.
