The CNN is reporting that emergency crews have rescued 47 people from a plane that has crashed in northeast China with more than 90 passengers aboard.

The Embraer 190 jet overshot the runway and caught fire when it was landing just after 10 p.m. China time at the Yichun airport.

The State-run Xinhua news agency said firefighters were still battling the blaze 90 minutes later.

The Henan Airlines had taken off from Harbin, on a short flight to Yichun City.
