Jamaican Nesta Carter achieves personal best in Diamond League final

Nesta Carter achieved the best-placed finish for Jamaica today at the final meet of the Samsung Diamond League series, the Van Damme meet in Brussels, Belgium.



Carter ran a personal-best 9.85 for second place behind American Tyson Gay, who won in 9.79 seconds.



Fast-rising sprinter Yohan Blake was third in 9.91 and his Jamaican teammate Mario Forsythe finished sixth in 10.12. Another Jamaican, the young Dexter Lee was eighth in 10.21.



Earlier, Jamaican Allodin Fothergill clocked 45.44 for third place in the men’s 400 metres. Nery Brenes of Costa Rica won the race in 44.92 seconds.
