Schoolboy football competition kicks off
The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Pepsi/Digicel schoolboy football competitions move into full gear this afternoon following Saturday’s opening day of the 2010 season.
In the rural-area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup there will be action in Zone G, H and J.
Zone G features Manchester hosting Christiana, Knox College entertaining Alston and Pours facing Cross Keys at Porus Community Centre.
In Zone H, Claude McKay and Lennon will faceoff; Edwin Allen will tackle Thompson Town while Vere Technical will host Denbigh.
Zone J matches are Old Harbour playing Charlemont and Bog Walk facing Ewarton.
There will be seven matches in the urban area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup competition.
In Group A, the match-ups are Jamaica College facing Cumberland and Waterford hosting St Mary’s College.
Group C will feature Charlie Smith against St Andrew College at Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, Innswood playing Kingston Technical at Chedwin Park and Excelsior facing Papine.
Over in Group E, Wolmer’s Boys and Edith Dalton James will face off at National Heroes Circle, while Donald Quarrie will tackle Spanish Town at Bull Bay.
All matches are scheduled to kick off at 3.30 p.m.
