St. Lucia PM wants legal framework

The St Lucian Prime Minister Stephenson King is supporting a call for a legal framework to implement decisions taken by CARICOM heads of government.

The call was made last week by former Prime Minister Vaughan Lewis who said there is need for a consensus on changing the instrument for decision making in the regional grouping.

Prime Minister King says putting in place a legal framework will provide legal strength for effective implementation.

He says CARICOM meetings will only be a waste of time if talks on integration are treated as a loose arrangement.
