OAS executive to visit Grenada

Ramdin, is to visit Grenada next week to pave the way for the arrival of an observer mission as the country prepares for general elections.

Assistant Secretary General of the Organisation of American States (OAS), Ambassador Albert

Head of the OAS Office in Grenada, Francis McBarnette, said during the June 12 to14 visit, discussions would be held with all political stakeholders.



McBarnette said the ambassador would also meet with members of civil society, all political organisations and independent candidates expected to contest the July 8 general election.



He is also scheduled to meet with government officials at the election office.



More than 65,000 voters are eligible to vote in the election, which is being contested by three political parties.
