The Baldwin Spencer administration says the government will shortly be able to access support from Japan for development projects at the grassroots and community levels.

This was agreed during the recent bilateral meetings in Tokyo, Japan, during the hosting of the Second Japan-CARICOM (Caribbean Community) Foreign Ministers Conference.

In a statement the Antiguan government said the grant assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects is designed to support projects proposed by such bodies as non-governmental organisations and local government authorities.

It further says that the financial assistance under the scheme will provide timely support for development projects that have a direct impact on the well-being of individuals in communities.
