Manning Cup competition to resume today
The urban area Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup football competition is expected to resume this afternoon, weather permitting.
The inclement weather affecting the island has affected both the Manning Cup and rural area daCosta Cup competition this week.
However, the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association competitions director, George Forbes, says with a slight improvement with the weather, the Manning Cup will resume.
There are eight matches on today with the focus on Group ‘F’.
Eltham, who have a perfect win record, will travel to Duhaney Park field to face Hydel; while Kingston College look set to return to winning ways against Jonathan Grant at Prison Oval in Spanish Town.
All matches are scheduled to kick off at 3.30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the daCosta Cup games originally set for Wednesday and were rescheduled for yesterday, weather permitting, will now be played on Monday, October 4, except matches in Zones G, H and J.
ISSA is yet to decide on a date for eight Manning Cup matches, which have been postponed yesterday.
And the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has postponed all games in the Premier League Clubs Association Under 21 competition, which were scheduled for this afternoon.
