President’s Cup round up

Jamaica are well placed to secure victory over Windward Islands in their first round Group ‘A’ match of the West Indies Cricket Board Regional One-day competition at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium.



Chasing a revised target of 113 off 25 overs, Windward Islands were 70 for four off 19 overs with Nikita Miller and Odean Brown picking up two wickets a piece.



Earlier, Jamaica choosing to bat scored 223 for five from their allocation of 50 overs.



Captain Chris Gayle top scored for Jamaica with 58 not out after he had retired very early in the innings without getting off the mark.



Tamar Lambert chipped in with 39, Danza Hyatt scored 36 and Carlton Baugh Junior 28 not out.



Darren Sammy was the most successful bowler for Windward Islands with two for 43.



In the other Group ‘A’ game, Darren Bravo scored an undefeated century to lead reigning champions Trinidad and Tobago to an eight-wicket victory over Combined Campuses and Colleges at Kensington Park.



Set a victory target of 201, T&T reached the total with the loss of two wickets off 43.2 overs with Bravo scoring 104 not out. He was well supported by Adrian Barath 41 and Daren Ganga 36 not out.



Earlier, Floyd Reifer scored 91 and Romel Currency 49 to lead Combined Campuses and Colleges to 200 for eight.



Bowling for T&T, Ravi Rampaul ended on 4 for 37 and Kieron Pollard two for 5.
