France imports oil from other countries

French authorities are reporting that the country is receiving a steady flow of fuel from oil refineries from other nations.

An ongoing strike has reportedly resulted in about 1,000 gas stations across France running out of fuel.

Protestors took to the streets in response to a government cost-saving move that would increase the age of retirement from 60 to 62.

Jean-Louis Shilansky, the president of the French Union of Petroleum Industries, is reported as saying that France has at least a four-week supply of fuel.

He says any shortages can be resolved with shipments from other countries.
