Rescue workers in Guyana are still searching for the bodies of a 20 year-old woman and 12 year-old girl after a boat with 10 people aboard capsized in the Demerara River during a Diwali Fun Day.

Police say, the boat, which was assigned to the Linden Community Policing Group, capsized on Friday evening.

According to the cops, none of the passengers, except the captain, were wearing life jackets.

The body of seven-year-old Kwesi Miggins was recovered yesterday less than 24 hours after the incident.

However, rescue workers were still searching for Kishana Holligsworth, 20 and Melinda Duggan, a student of McKenzie High School in Guyana.

The Police say the captain of the boat, who reportedly fled the scene after the incident, has been detained.
