Electricity bills in St Kitts and Nevis may soon increase following the government’s acquisition of four new generators.
The government in Basseterre, St Kitts said the generators which cost US$22 million are to be used to better meet the country's electricity needs.
Local media reports suggest that this will result in a hefty hike in the rate for electricity.
While, the authorities have not confirmed this, one official was quoted recently as saying that the multi-million dollar investment in the energy sector would result in increased operational costs.
