Jamaica to start against Guyana in 20/20 tournament

Jamaica will be in action on the opening day when the Caribbean 20/20 tournament bowls off on January 10th at the Sir Vivian Cricket Grounds in Antigua.



The Jamaicans will face off with reigning champions Guyana at 8 p.m.



The game is the second of two matches at the venues as Combined Campuses and Colleges will face Windward Islands in the opening match at 4 p.m.



Jamaica, Guyana, Combined Campuses and College, Windward Islands and Somerset have been drawn in Group ‘A’.



Group ‘B’ features Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Leeward Islands, Canada and Hampshire.



English 20/20 winners Hampshire Royals will kick off their Caribbean campaign when they take on invitational side Canada in a 4 p.m. match.



The other English team, Somerset will play their first match on January 12 against Guyana.



There will be twelve preliminary matches in Antigua at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium and eight preliminary matches in Barbados plus the semi finals, third place play off and the final at Kensington Oval.



The top two teams from each group will secure semi final places.
