The twentieth Ibero-American Summit is scheduled to open today in the Argentine city of Mar del Plata.
The two-day meeting brings together the heads of state and government of the twenty-two Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.
This year's theme is education, with a pledge to invest more than $100 billion in the next 10 years to improve standards and access to education in poorer countries.
