Powerful FIFA vice-president Jack Warner has been nominated unopposed for his eighth successive term in charge of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU).

Nominations for posts within CFU’s executive committee closed on Monday with Warner and all the incumbent members being nominated unchallenged.

The CFU is the governing body for Caribbean football and comprises 30 member countries, all of whom compete in CONCACAF, the continental governing body for the North, Central American and Caribbean area.

Warner, who has served as CFU president since the organisation’s inception 18 years ago, described the overwhelming mandate given him as “humbling and invigorating.”
