Twenty-seven Haitians deported from the US

Immigration officials in the United States have deported 27 Haitian migrants previously convicted of serious crimes, the first since last year’s earthquake.
Washington had halted the deportations after the disaster.
The Obama administration last month announced a resumption of deportations of those convicted of violent crimes who had served their sentences.
But Immigration advocates have criticised the move, given the political unrest and a cholera outbreak in the country.
