The CNN is reporting that food supply is now running low in Egypt, as the country continues to be beset by demonstrations.
It is reported that several families are fast running out of items such as bread, beans and rice and are often unable or unwilling to shop for groceries.
The unrest has paralysed daily life in Egypt with many grocers closing shop.
The citizens are demanding that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak steps down.
President Mubarak has ordered a nationwide curfew which has further stifled normal life in the embattled nation.
Egyptian state-run Nile TV has set up a hotline for citizens to call in and report bread shortages.
The CCN says there has been no other indication of what the Egyptian government is doing to address the crisis.
