The Egyptian government and opposition groups have made concessions on key issues to change governance in the country.

At a meeting yesterday, between Egypt's vice president, Omar Suleiman, and the Opposition groups it was agreed that among several agenda items should be an end to the military emergency law that has been in place since President Hosni Mubarak came to power in 1981.

The parties also discussed steps to ensure free media and communication and plan to form a series of committees that would oversee changes aimed at bringing about a representative government.

For the past two weeks Egyptians have been leading protests demanding a change in their system of government.
