The Grenada Trade Union Council has announced plans to picket the 22nd Inter-sessional meeting of CARICOM leaders being held in Grenada this weekend.
The union says the intention will be to urge the leaders to take decisive measures to ensure swift compensation of policyholders of the failed British American and CLICO Insurance companies.
The union says Grenada’s Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has given his commitment to seek compensation for affected policyholders.
The union also wants steps to be taken to enact regional legislation to ensure the protection of other policyholders and investors against similar collapses.
